Barb Dunne

Gymnastics Coordinator and Level 5 Head Coach

Barb has been a longtime Palatine Gymnastics Club employee. As one of the first instructors of the program she has risen through the ranks and is now the Gymnastics Coordinator. She is a 1977 Fremd High School gymnast and graduate, who went on to compete for Harper College gymnastics team, where they were NJCAA State Champs.That earned her team a trip to National competition in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating Harper with a Criminal Justice degree in 1982, she went on to become a Police Officer with the Villages of Bloomingdale and Arlington Heights. Her police career spanned ten years, and in 1992 she hung up her cuffs to become a full-time mom. She has three children and one grandson. In 1993 she returned to coaching at the Palatine gymnastics Club and now has over thirty years coaching experience. Barb has worked with our pre-school program, recreation classes, and is currently the head coach for levels 5. She is a certified coach through American Sport Education Program (ASEP), Safety Certified, Certified Skill Evaluator, Certified Meet Director, USAG Professional Member, NAWGJ Judge, and First Aid Trained. She continues to have a passion for the sport of gymnastics, and prides herself on the reputation the PGC has achieved and strives to maintain that reputation and quality.
